MGP's Meet on Solar Electricity

Most of India suffers from power shortage. To address this issue, the Central Government is promoting unconventional energy sources, notably, solar power. It has given approval to 31 cities across India for development as Solar cities and Mysore is one of them. Solar cities are required to promote solar energy to reduce the demand for conventional energy by at least 10 per cent.
In a related development, Chamundeshwari Electric Supply Corporation has earmarked Rs. 3 crores in 2013-14 to subsidize domestic rooftop solar panels in Mysore city. Under this scheme, a home owner can get a half Kw unit for Rs. 52,500.

The next monthly meeting of Mysore Grahakara Parishat to be held at 4 PM on Sunday, 9-3-14 at MGP's Office, 6/1, Vivekananda Road, Yadavagiri (Opp. SBI), will focus on these issues. Sri. K.M. Munigopalaraju, Executive Engineer, CESC (V.V.Mohalla Division) has agreed to be present. He will talk about the recent government policy on promoting solar electricity for households. He will also answer public grievances, if any.
